Delphine “Dee” F. Kosek, 88 of Sylvania, OH, and formerly of Lambertville, MI, passed away peacefully Friday, June 17, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family. Born February 19, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of John and Frances (Grabowski) Karas. A 1946 graduate of St. Ladislaus Catholic School in Detroit, Michigan, she married Thomas Kosek, Sr. on April 12, 1958. Dee was employed by Monroe Bank and Trust for several years, retiring as assistant manager in 1993. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance. Dee mostly enjoyed her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Busia” . It was all about family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas, Sr.; children, Thomas (Laurie) Kosek, Jr., Dawn (Mark) Herring; Dennis (Cheryl) Kosek, and Terri (Bill) Himmel; grandchildren, Thomas (Elizabeth) Kosek, III, Nicole (Robert) Appleman, Jonathan (Christina) Herring, Alexander Herring, Zachary, Olivia, Emma, Eleanor, Elena Kosek and Samuel Himmel; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orlando Aleardi ,4 grandchildren, Sean and Steven Kosek, Joshua Herring and Lily Himmel, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will follow Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH. The family wishes to thank the staff at Genesis Healthcare – Sylvania, and Ebeid Hospice Residence.
